insurance providers group--ipg
Since
its origination in 1997, the PBL Education Foundation has been fortunate
to have many loyal supporters. One such supporter has been
Insurance Providers Group. Since the fall of 2003-04, IPG has
donated $50 to the PBL Education Foundation for every touchdown made by
the Varsity Panthers football team. For the 2009-10
season, they again pledged $50 per touchdown with a cap of
$1,000. Since the varsity team scored 23 touchdowns, IPG wrote
a check to the PBL Education Foundation for $1,000.
With offices in Paxton, Roberts,
Rantoul, Gibson City and Savoy, IPG was established in 1997 to
serve the insurance needs of individuals, families and
businesses in East Central Illinois. Co-owners are Mitch Nuss
and Dean Swan. “We continue to believe in PBL academics and
athletics and wanted to participate in this exciting program
again,” said Nuss.
For the first time during the
2008-09 basketball season, IPG promised to pay $9 to the PBL
Education Foundation for every three-point shot made by the boys
and girls varsity teams. IPG set a maximum of $1,000.
Both teams had a tremendous season and surpassed their record of
last year. They made a combined 180 three-point shots
bringing the IPG donation to its cap of $1,000. "This is a
great opportunity that IPG made available for the student
athletes on the varsity basketball teams," said Travis Duley,
PBL girls' basketball coach. "We constantly stress the
importance of focusing on the academic part of student athletes.
This program allowed the girls to bring their academic and
athletic lives together by helping fund educational programs in
our district by succeeding on the basketball court."
IPG has extended the challenge for
the 2009-10 basketball season. They are contributing $3.00
to the PBL Education Foundation for every three-point shot made
during the 2009-2010 regular season by both the girls' and boys'
varsity teams. Funds donated by IPG will be placed in the
Foundation's general fund to enhance existing programs, initiate
new academic programs or to purchase equipment that will
complement the teaching process.
