Grants


Since the PBL Education Foundation was founded in 1997, it has awarded educators in the PBL Community Unit #10 School district over $120,000 in the form of grant money. Teachers who are interested in applying for grants may read the quick summary for each grant type below. More detailed descriptions, procedures for applying, and application blanks are available at each respective link below.


The Foundation awards four different types of grants:

Opportunity-for-Change Grants: (Click for More Information)
The Foundation is looking for grant applicants who are leading their colleagues into the future in terms of the tools they use in their teaching. The Foundation reserves the right to determine the number of grants awarded and the amount of each grant.  If the trustees feel that a proposal has exceptional merit, they may award the entire $10,000 to one applicant.

Tech Grants: (Click for More Information)
$10,000 has been budgeted for Tech Grants per year.  These grants will be competitive.  The Foundation may award any number of grants that they choose.  Applications are due by January 6 in the Superintendent’s office.   Grants will be awarded in February.  See more details at the Tech Grant Page.

Innovation Grants: (Click for More Information)
A maximum of THREE $1,000 Innovation Grant awards will be given per year.  Applications for these grants are due in the early spring and then awarded in May for use in the following school year.  See more details at the Mini Grant page.

PBL Grants: (Click for More Information)
One  $2,000 PBL Grant is available per school year.  The application for this grant must be submitted through the School Improvement Team .  Applications for these grants are due in January  and then awarded in May for use in the following school year. See more details at the PBL Grant page.
