SOURCES OF FUNDS
The PBL Education Foundation started with a zero balance in 1997
when the organization was created. Throughout the past fifteen years,
the Foundation has disbursed over $60,000 in grant money alone to
enhance and enrich educational opportunities for the students in the
Paxton-Buckley-Loda Community Unit #10 School District. Virtually
every student from kindergarten through high school has benefited
from the grant money that has been designated for specific projects.
The money to fund these grants comes from business and private
citizen donations through a number of fund-raising programs:

It Only Takes Cents - It Only Takes Cents has been the Foundation’s biggest annual fund-raiser since 2004. Once a year, letters are sent to alumni, local businesses, community-minded citizens, retired educators, and school district vendors. Donors are asked to give from five cents to $1 for each student enrolled in the PBL Unit #10 school district.

Honor a Teacher - Making a donation in honor of your child’s teacher can be a very appropriate Christmas or Graduation gift to that teacher. It could also be a way of honoring a teacher from your own school days.

Memorial Donations - Many families have found the PBL Education Foundation to be a fitting way to honor a loved one.

Honorariums - Many people have found the PBL Education Foundation to be a fitting way to honor someone who is still living.

Harvest for Tomorrow - This fund-raising initiative began in the fall of 2010 as an opportunity for farmers to sell grain at their local elevator in the PBL Education Foundation’s name. There are potential tax advantages to giving in this way.
