The PBL Education Foundation started with a
zero balance in 1997 when the organization was created. Throughout
the past ten years, the Foundation has disbursed over $60,000 in grant money alone to enhance and enrich educational opportunities for the students in
the Paxton-Buckley-Loda Community Unit #10 School District.
Virtually every student from kindergarten through high school has
benefited from the grant money that has been designated for specific
projects.Where does this money come
from?
The Education Foundation sponsored Taste of PBL as an initial
money-making event for the organization. A second main purpose for
this fund raiser was to make the Foundation a visible entity in the
community. Thanks to the help of many volunteers who organized
this event and the generous donations of local businesses and citizens,
Taste of PBL provided funding as follows:
2002: $8,600
2003: $9,290
2004: $8,054
2005: $4,000
After six years, the Foundation Board felt that the Taste of PBL fund
raiser had run its course and it was time to focus more on other
fund-raising options such as the It Only Takes
Cents campaign.
Businesses or individuals may use the services of the Education
Foundation to administer a sponsored scholarship. The Foundation
receives a 10 percent administration fee for this service.
Guidelines for this service may be seen on the following page:

Over the past ten years, the Foundation has been fortunate to receive
the financial support of many businesses located in the towns of
Buckley, Loda, Paxton, and Roberts as well as other towns. A list
of all businesses as well as individuals who have donated the past
several years appears on the Donors List Page.
Countless individuals have identified with the mission of the PBL
Education Foundation to enhance the learning opportunities for the
students of the PBL School District. They have supported the
Foundation by giving their time, their talents, and their treasures.
Donors from the past several years are named on the
Donors List Page. Many individuals have chosen to designate
that a memorial in someone's name be given to the PBL Education
Foundation. Memorials are listed on the
Memorial Page.
The PBL Education Foundation launched this new initiative to raise
$120,000 for the purchase of smart boards, projectors, mobile computer
labs, and programs for use at all levels of the PBL Unit #10 school
system for the 2007-08 school year. For more details on this
project, go to Advantage . . . PBL
